Tears Naturale
La lectrice Errante really isn't anything like My Year of Reading...although I'm doing a lot of the same things day to day...taking pictures while driving...reading (so much that I had to buy some "Tears Naturale II" Lubricant Eye Drops because of eye discomfort)...walking around making observations...I've been thinking of shutting down this blog and doing something different just because I'm not writing much or using the blog much. But, I'm just still thinking about it.
For now, a list of what I've been reading lately (some is work related so don't be thinkin' there's necessarily a theme...)
Just finished (with natural tears): Lewis Grassic Gibbon's Sunset Song - a Scottish modernist classic - wonderful - I believe in fiction again.
Currently Reading:
Sharon Butala The Perfection of the Morning
a book of George Stubbs paintings
a book of Thomas Bewick's engravings
Jacques Derrida ”The Animal that I Therefore Am (More to Follow)”
Gulliver's Travels
La Mettrie Man a Machine
Montaigne Apology for Raymond Sebond
A Thousand Plateaus (still)
John Clare's poems
lots of sonnets
a book about sonnets - especially interested in corona sonnets
several books about and featuring artwork by William Hogarth (a recent obsession)
Bernard de Mandeville The Fable of the Bees
Mitch Tomashow Ecological Identity
some recipes for Christmas cookies
This year's favorite: Black-Bottomed Coconut Bars (everyone devoured them - I didn't even get one from the last batch).
I better stop and use some Tears Naturale...
